From web app tomobile app
Capacitor, Android, push notifications, onboarding and training plans turned the web project into an app designed for daily smartphone use.
March marked a change in direction. LevelUpLife should no longer be only a web application that happened to work on a smartphone. Capacitor and the Android project began the buildout of a real mobile product structure.
This monthly retrospective was reconstructed later from the roadmap at the time and the project history available today. Development was not recorded as a complete diary, so individual steps can no longer be assigned to exact days.
Capacitor opens the door tothe mobile app
Capacitor made it possible to keep using existing web technologies while gaining access to native platform capabilities. That made the transition realistic without rewriting the entire product.
The Android project was more than a packaging step. Once an application is installed, expectations increase around startup behavior, navigation, offline situations and the use of native APIs.
Onboarding and everyday tools make dailyuse more realistic
Onboarding became more important because the app could now do more than a single tool. New users needed an entry into the system, not only an explanation of one feature.
Timer and Pomodoro simultaneously added small tools that could help directly in everyday life. Push notifications were intended to bring relevant moments back to mind even when the app was closed.
The move to a mobile app was less about a new screen and more about a new expectation for how reliably LevelUpLife must work in everyday life.
Training moves closerto production
Training plans and live tracking turned the training area into a real recurring flow. The available project history also shows a March release step for the training overview, live tracker and core progress.
This made clear what the shift toward mobile needed to achieve: not merely have features, but design them for repeated use on the move.
